More fun with the GoPro Gimbal Rig…
May 10, 2015
I had the rare opportunity to hang out with my teenage daughter the other day and we headed out to Hyde Park with the GoPro Gimbal. I left behind the Aputure field monitor and mounted my iPhone instead using a cheap eBay tripod adapter. The iPhone isn’t ideal for framing due to the ~1 second lag in the live feed from the GoPro but it makes up for it with reduced weight and easy access to GoPro controls. It can even be used to playback recorded clips. This is likely the sort of rig I would bring on an extended hiking trip. I also noticed that the roll issue I mentioned in the previous post was much improved by not having an HDMI cable hanging out the side.
